ESPN has evaluated Bronny James’ NBA stock in their latest mock draft
LEBRON James may have to keep waiting for his dream to play with his son Bronny after a recent mock draft projected him to stay in school.
ESPN released another two-round 2024 NBA mock draft and the son of the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is missing from the list.

The latest two-round NBA mock draft from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo has Bronny missing the cut and returning to school at USC.
Earlier this month, ESPN released a mock draft projecting Bronny to go undrafted in 2024 but highlighted that he has a chance since he’s “been excellent defensively.”
“James has plenty of room to grow as a ball handler to become more of a true combo guard than an undersized 3-and-D wing like he currently appears.”
However, the most recent mock has moved the 19-year-old into the 2025 NBA draft.
And he wasn’t listed in the first round of the draft in the 2025 mock.
ESPN had Bronny slotted at pick No. 39 to the Portland Trailblazers, just missing out on the first round.
LeBron caught wind of the report and shared his thoughts online in a now-deleted post, blasting the writers for not letting Bronny “enjoy college.”
“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do.
“If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!” LeBron wrote.
Bronny had a delayed start to his college career after he suffered a medical emergency last year in July when his heart stopped during a workout on USC’s campus.
He was diagnosed with a treatable congenital heart defect, and the James family shared they feel confident that he can safely return to the court.
Bronny returned to play on December 10 against Long Beach State. He has appeared in 19 games this season, averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
LeBron has also been very open about his desire to play with his son when he makes it to the league.
Earlier this month, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that he had been hearing rumblings of teams thinking of ways they could lure James if he left the Lakers, and drafting Bronny is one of them.
“I know of at least two teams on the NBA map that believe LeBron James would consider signing with them at far less than $51.4 million if Bronny James is on the roster.”
